Private lessons run congruently with NSW public school term dates and lessons inside school operate according to that school’s dates.
Lessons are billed at the beginning of the term and method of payment is bank transfer. Late payments are charged a $10 p/w admin fee. Overdue payments may result in the re-allocation of the lesson time to another student.
Private lessons can be rescheduled if more than 24 hours notice is given, otherwise the lesson is forfeited. Any cancellations with more than 24 hours notice must be completed by the end of the school term. Missed lessons in the last week of term cannot be made up after that week (they can be made up before). Please note, week 10 is usually very busy with make - up lessons and so availability is usually slim.
There are no refunds for missed band rehearsals or group lessons and they cannot be credited to the following term.
If there is a big event on which involves the whole school, eg the swimming carnival etc, lessons will not run and will not be added to the invoice. If there are activities which prevent some students from attending the lesson, but not all, we will either reschedule that lesson or cancel it and not invoice (for example year 3’s in week 10 on an excursion).
If the assigned tutor or conductor cannot make it due to illness and gives notice within 24 hours of the lesson, we will organise a substitute or not charge for that day.
If the tutor needs to cancel a lesson but gives more than 24 hours notice, we reserve the right to reschedule to another convenient time for both student/s and tutor.
At the risk of spreading germs to others and getting sick ourselves, we need to make sure children who are sick please stay at home.
Lessons run on time and we endeavor to be punctual for mobile lessons. Please note that if we are late on the odd occasion due to lessons running over or traffic, we will still teach the whole lesson time you have booked. If you are late, we need to finish on time.
A “half-hour lesson” is actually a 28 minute lesson. We need 2 minutes turn around time at the end of each lesson to start on time for the next student.
